1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account & Profile: name, email, grade/board/class, school, parent/teacher details.
  • Learning Data: answers, attempts, time-on-task, hints viewed, mastery estimates (BKT/DKT), streaks, badges.
  • Purchases: plan type, transaction IDs, billing contact (payment cards handled by our payment processors).
  • Support & Feedback: messages, ratings, surveys.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device/Usage: IP address, device and browser info, app version, crash logs, pages/screens viewed, referrals.
  • Cookies/SDKs: session cookies, auth tokens, analytics identifiers.
  • Approx. Location: derived from IP for localization and fraud prevention (not precise geolocation).

1.3 Information from Others

  • Parents/Teachers/Schools: roster, class, permissions.
  • Payment Providers: payment status, receipts.
  • Single Sign-On (if used): name, email, profile ID.

2. How We Use Information

  • Deliver and improve the Services, content, and features.
  • Personalize learning paths using BKT/DKT and adaptive models.
  • Provide dashboards, progress reports, and insights for students, parents, and teachers.
  • Process payments, subscriptions, and account administration.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Analyze usage to improve performance, reliability, and UX.
  • Communicate about updates, new features, and support (you can opt out of non-essential emails).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce terms.

3. Legal Bases (GDPR/Comparable)

Where applicable (e.g., EEA/UK), we rely on: (a) Contract to provide Services; (b) Legitimate Interests (e.g., security, analytics, product improvement); (c) Consent (e.g., certain cookies/marketing); (d) Legal Obligations.

4. Sharing & Disclosures

  • Service Providers: hosting, analytics, messaging, payments; bound by confidentiality and data protection terms.
  • Schools/Parents/Teachers: progress and insights visible to authorized guardians/educators.
  • Legal & Safety: to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and integrity of our users and Services.
  • Business Transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may transfer subject to this Policy.
  • No Selling of Student Data: we do not sell personal information of students.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business needs (e.g., compliance, dispute resolution), then delete or anonymize it per our retention schedules. You may request deletion (see “Your Rights”).

6. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards (encryption in transit, least-privilege access, audit logging). However, no system is 100% secure. Report security issues to support@deepschool.in.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are designed for K–12 learners with parental/guardian or school involvement. Where required by law (e.g., COPPA/India DPDP when applicable), we obtain consent from parents or schools acting as agents for consent. Guardians and schools can review and delete a child’s information by contacting us.

8. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access/Correction/Deletion: request a copy, fix mistakes, or delete your data.
  • Portability: request export of certain data in a portable format.
  • Objection/Restriction: object to or restrict certain processing (where applicable).
  • Consent withdrawal: withdraw consent at any time (doesn’t affect prior processing).
  • Marketing opt-out: unsubscribe links in emails or in-app controls.

Submit requests via privacy@deepschool.in. We may verify your identity before responding.

9. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use essential cookies for authentication and operation, and optional analytics cookies to improve the product. You can control cookies via browser settings and in-app preferences where available.

10. International Data Transfers

We may process data in countries different from yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.

11. Third-Party Services

Our Services may link to third-party sites or integrate third-party SDKs (analytics, payments, cloud). Their practices are governed by their privacy policies.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
